Have you ever asked the question: what does it mean to be a real friend? Eight individuals, including three with Autism and one with Down Syndrome take that journey with international tango stars and choreographers Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo. A compelling documentary about the art of connection.
About the Film
The purpose of this project is to document through film, the process of what it takes and what it means to form a genuine connection with another through Match-A-Friend, a program that aims to teach diverse youth what it means to connect as friends with individuals who have autism.
This documentary chronicles the journey of each featured youth being introduced to a friend and learning to bond through tango. Tango is a dance that requires the art of non-verbal communication and partnership communication through music and movement. It is a language which focuses on connection, and through the right approach, becomes a valuable tool to reach out to another.
